SIDE STAGE Events is delighted to announce the launch of The Afterglow Sessions – a new live music event celebrating acoustic, original songwriting, performed in an intimate setting.

Our debut event will be held on the evening of 1st December 2026 with doors opening at 7pm at Prohibition Recording Studios, Liverpool, featuring performances from Carlos Grassot and Jenny Colquitt.

Designed to bring audiences and artists closer together, The Afterglow Sessions offers a warm, cosy atmosphere on a winter evening that fosters community and collaboration.

We welcome all people from across the city, creating a space for audiences to discover local talent and share their love of music. We aspire to build a community around independent artists in a relaxed and supportive environment; for the performers to share their unique stories through music.

Carlos Grassot is a Spanish singer songwriter that went to the UK to pursue his dream and become a professional musician.

At the age of 21 he left his family, friends and the village he is from to go to London and start learning from the best musicians.

After a year and a half of intense life experiences he moved to Liverpool where he wrote his first ever EP called “Farewell the child” where he collected past memories that made him somehow make a big step in becoming an adult, including his recent stint in London.

Nowadays, Carlos has formed a family and has released his second EP called “Farewell the world”, criticizing our society in different ways and also, due to his new life as a father, is in process of writing and recording two EP’s called “Welcome the child” and “Welcome the world” that all together will form a 16 song album called “The Child and The World”.

Named as one of RnR Magazines ‘Ones to watch’, powerhouse artist Jenny Colquitt encompasses a unique combination of Indie folk, rock and pop. Winner of the 2021/2022 FATEA ‘Female artist of the Year’ award and the 2020/2021 GSMC Award for best female solo singer/songwriter, Jenny’s music is described as fit for film and storytelling at its finest. A voice that uniquely combines the melodic undertones of artists such as Eva Cassidy and the rawness of Alanis Morissette. She writes with soul, lyrical vulnerability and style to accompany her musicality both through keys and guitar.
Jenny released her third studio album ‘Pockets Full of Rain’ in May 2026 which was followed by a hugely successful UK Tour. It was described as ‘a distinctive blend of substance and songcraft’ and as having ‘gorgeous vocals and nice repetition and flow’ by Colin Palmer of RnR Magazine.
Her second album ‘Staring at the Moon’, released in May 2024, received critical acclaim among media peers and was described as showcasing ‘immense vocal abilities which range from a soft and melancholy mood through to an epic and powerhouse delivery’ by Louder than War and ‘as good as an album gets’ by Lazland.
