Helen Maw is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Liverpool, blending contemporary folk-pop with heartfelt storytelling and memorable melodies.

Her songwriting explores the people, places and experiences that shape our lives, finding inspiration in both the everyday and the extraordinary.

Following the release of her debut album, Growing Pains, in 2024, Helen has continued to develop her sound through a growing catalogue of original music, including her singles The Beacon (2025) and Shadows (2026). Her music has received support from BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, as well as a variety of radio support from international stations.

In 2026, Helen received both the Judges’ Favourite and Audience Favourite awards at the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge for her original composition, A Million Dreams.

An experienced live performer, Helen has taken to stages including Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room, the legendary Cavern Club, Future Yard and Storyhouse Chester, alongside international performances in Stockholm and Madrid.

Beyond her own music, Helen is passionate about supporting and celebrating grassroots creativity. She is the co-founder of Writing the City, a Liverpool-based initiative bringing songwriters together through workshops, performances and collaborative opportunities.

She also presents Amplifying the City on Halton Sound, championing emerging artists and exploring the stories behind their music.

Igloo Hearts

Igloo Hearts are a folk-pop duo from North Wales, known for cinematic piano, rich harmonies, and emotionally charged songwriting. Blending classical and acoustic textures, they’ve drawn comparisons to Jesca Hoop and Radiohead.
