About The Events

Songbird Medicine Show “At Songbird Medicine Show we’re building a new kind of tour. One that brings singer-songwriters and audiences together in an intimate, collaborative setting. Inspired by the spirit of a late-night gathering around the kitchen table, each event invites listeners into a warm, welcoming space where stories are shared, songs are stripped back, and connection is everything.”

The debut Songbird Medicine Show tour features two of the UK’s most compelling contemporary voices: Hattie Whitehead and Jack Francis. Acclaimed for their honesty and craft, both artists will perform a handpicked selection of their finest songs — accompanied by a shared ensemble of their favourite musicians.

The evening culminates in a special collaborative set, where the featured performers come together to reimagine songs, swap verses, and celebrate the spirit of musical kinship that defines Songbird Medicine Show.”

6 months after the release of debut album Bloom, Hattie Whitehead finds herself in a place of momentum and deeper creative clarity. Described by Jazzwise as “one of the greatest singers I have ever heard,” Hattie continues to carve out a distinctive space with her outspoken voice and emotionally honest songwriting.

Bloom, produced by John Reynolds (Sinead O’Connor), was praised as “emotionally engaged, well-voiced, and decently written” (Arts Desk), “sophisticated listening” (Fatea Magazine) The album’s intimate exploration of grief, growth, and female empowerment resonated deeply with audiences and critics alike, receiving 5 stars from RnR Magazine and confirming Hattie as an artist unafraid to bare vulnerability with poise and depth.

Now, working on her 2nd album, Hattie’s writing is expanding. With her signature blend of “sophisticated harmonies and hummable melodies” (RnR Magazine), she pushes into new territory while staying rooted in the emotional honesty that defines her work. The new material carries the quiet strength of someone who has emerged changed—and stronger—from lived experience.

With support from Glastonbury, Guy Garvey, and iPaper, Hattie Whitehead is no longer just a rising talent. She is a vital voice in British songwriting—one who, as Richer Sounds puts it, combines “powerful, outspoken voice and smart lyricism” with a sound that soothes the ear and stirs the heart.

The Telegraph – “Hattie Whitehead has rich, honeyed vocals as well as a talent for writing enthralling melodies and soul baring, honest lyrics.”

Jazzwise – “Hattie Whitehead is one of the greatest singers I’ve ever heard”

Songwriting Magazine – “Poignant and healing songwriting”

“Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jack Francis’ second album ‘Early Retirement’ is another example of his impressive work. Shining a spotlight on Francis’ unique brand of Soulful Folk, ‘Early Retirement’ explores a broad range of influences, touching on great British, Irish and American songwriting.”

The lyrical content demonstrates the writer’s acerbic wit and attention to detail and compounds his experience navigating modern society and fallen dreams. The singles from his sophomore record were picked up on national radio and championed by the likes of BBC Radio 2, Radio X and BBC Radio Scotland – the album itself appearing in both the Official Americana and Official Folk Charts upon its release in March 2024. The song ‘Failure’ was subsequently nominated for ‘Song Of The Year’ at the UK Americana Awards in 2025.

Jack’s reputation as a stunning live performer has also put him in good company, opening shows for the likes of Flyte and Courtney Marie Andrews to name a couple, whilst also appearing at several festivals across the UK and Europe, including Glastonbury Festival in 2024.”

CLASH – “Soulful, country-folk – somewhere between Ron Sexsmith and Hamish Hawk.”

Louder Than War – ‘This album is more than a bit of a triumph… this whole album should be declared an area of outstanding natural beauty.”

AmericanaUK – “Jack Francis is an outstanding songwriter… this is thoughtful and ambitious work that comes highly recommended”

Holler Country – “A mix of raw soul, honest country heart and undeniable British resolve”

KLOF Magazine – “This stupendous album is something we should all be grateful for”
