About The Events
Friday 13th May 2022 we will be welcoming Paul O’Keefe to Prohibition! Paul will be performing an evening of original songs alongside some tales and stories that have been created throughout his musical journey.
Paul O’Keefe is a new and exciting acoustic singer-songwriter from the hallowed musical city of Liverpool. Paul draws influence from many of the greats through the ages, leaning on the melodic sensibilities of John Lennon, Paul Simon, David Bowie and Billy Joel, while having the same knack for communicating the honesty of every day life a’la early Noel Gallagher and more recently, Dermot Kennedy.
This exciting blend of old and new gives a perfectly concocted mix of familiarity and fresh ingenuity that is the lifeblood of the musical troubadour scene.
The song His Story three minutes of sheer brilliance. A song that is at once, a tortured lament, a cry for help and a plea to the object of the songs affections to stick-around, but is presented in such a beautifully melodic way that the listener can’t help but feel there is hope for the future of this particular character.
Paul has spent the last few years diligently honing his craft, playing with various bands up and down the UK before making a clean break from his previous musical endeavours to forge his own path. A songwriter and live performer who has an ability to passionately connect with an audience, whilst displaying a vulnerability that makes him wonderfully endearing, Paul is ready to tell the stories you want to hear.
Supporting Paul will the fantastic Leah Ditchfield who will be opening the evening with a beautiful set!
